چکیده

The effect of many-body interaction in curved space is studied based on the extended Bose--Hubbard model hyperbolic lattices. Using mean-field approximation and quantum Monte Carlo simulation, phase diagram explicitly mapped out, which contains superfluid, supersolid insulator phases at various fillings. Particularly, it revealed that sizes Mott lobes shrink stabilized smaller nearest-neighbor as $q$ Schl\"afli symbol increases. underlying physical mechanism attributed to increase coordination number, hence kinetic energy interaction. results suggest lattices may be a unique platform study number transitions, relevant experiments ultracold atoms optical

Quantum phase transitions of interacting bosons and the supersolid phase.

We investigate the properties of strongly interacting bosons in two dimensions at zero temperature using mean-field theory, a variational Ansatz for the ground state wave function, and Monte Carlo methods. With on-site and short-range interactions a rich phase diagram is obtained. Apart from the homogeneous superfluid and Mott-insulating phases, inhomogeneous chargedensity wave phases appear, t...

Quantum Phase Transitions on Percolating Lattices

When a quantum many-particle system exists on a randomly diluted lattice, its intrinsic thermal and quantum fluctuations coexist with geometric fluctuations due to percolation. In this paper, we explore how the interplay of these fluctuations influences the phase transition at the percolation threshold. While it is well known that thermal fluctuations generically destroy long-range order on the...

Quantum phase transitions of hard-core bosons in background potentials.

We study the zero temperature phase diagram of hard-core bosons in two dimensions subjected to three types of background potentials: staggered, uniform, and random. In all three cases there is a quantum phase transition from a superfluid (at small potential) to a normal phase (at large potential), but with different universality classes. As expected, the staggered case belongs to the XY univers...

Phase Transitions on Random Lattices : How Random

Submitted for the MAR15 Meeting of The American Physical Society Phase Transitions on Random Lattices: How Random is Topological Disorder?1 HATEM BARGHATHI, THOMAS VOJTA, Missouri Univ of Sci & Tech — We study the effects of topological (connectivity) disorder on phase transitions. We identify a broad class of random lattices whose disorder fluctuations decay much faster with increasing length ...

Change in order of phase transitions on fractal lattices

We reexamine a population model which exhibits a continuous absorbing phase transition belonging to directed percolation in 1D and a first-order transition in 2D and above. Studying the model on Sierpinski Carpets of varying fractal dimensions, we examine at what fractal dimension 1 ≤ d f ≤ 2, the change in order occurs. As well as commenting on the order of the transitions, we produce estimate...
